MSC’s 2027 World Cruise Will Be The First To Sail With An MSC Yacht Club

MSC Cruises is putting its Yacht Club on an around the world voyage for the first time.

The debut comes on the 2027 MSC World Cruise, a sailing of 121 nights aboard MSC Magnifica.

The ship leaves Genoa on January 5, 2027 and returns there on May 6.

In between it calls at 45 destinations across 25 countries and five continents, including a Panama Canal transit.

Magnifica already has the hardware installed. The suites went in during a drydock that wrapped in December 2025, and the enclave opened to guests this past May.

Here is what MSC has confirmed, what the voyage costs, and who this kind of sailing actually suits.

What MSC Has Confirmed About The 2027 World Cruise

MSC lists the voyage at 121 nights and 122 days.

That figure is worth pinning down, because some coverage has attached the 2026 edition’s 132 day length to this sailing. They are two different voyages.

The route opens with a Mediterranean run through Marseille, Barcelona, Gibraltar and Casablanca.

From there it crosses the Atlantic by way of Cape Verde into South America, calling at Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Puerto Madryn, Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands, Ushuaia and Valparaiso.

The Pacific leg is the unusual stretch.

MSC’s own port list includes Hanga Roa on Easter Island, a passage at Pitcairn Island, Papeete, Moorea and the Cook Islands.

New Zealand and Australia follow, then Samoa, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Cabo San Lucas and Costa Rica.

The Panama Canal crossing leads into the Caribbean and the Canary Islands before the ship turns for Italy.

Guests can board at six ports: Civitavecchia, Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona, Valparaiso and Sydney.

Every full world cruise fare includes 15 shore excursions, a dining and drinks package, a laundry discount, and seven overnight port stays in Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Valparaiso, Papeete, Hobart and Sydney.

The Yacht Club Debut Is The Actual Story

Magnifica spent roughly two months at the Palumbo shipyard in Malta in late 2025.

MSC described the work as the largest remodeling it had taken on in ten years.

The refit added a Yacht Club with 63 suites spread across five decks and five suite categories, with butler and concierge service around the clock.

The top Royal Suite sleeps six and comes with a private whirlpool and a terrace of roughly 78 square meters.

Two specialty restaurants opened at the same time, Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar, alongside a redesigned Aurea Spa and a Technogym fitness center on deck 14.

Those venues went into service right away. The Yacht Club waited.

It opened on May 16, 2026, when Magnifica started Baltic and Scandinavian itineraries out of Warnemünde in Germany.

MSC chief executive Gianni Onorato called the remodeling “the largest we’ve undertaken in the last ten years” when the line announced the project.

The 2027 sailing marks the first time that enclave has been offered on one of MSC’s global voyages.

That matters more on a long sailing than a short one. On a week in the Caribbean, a private sun deck is a nice extra. Over four months, it is closer to the difference between a hotel room and an apartment.

What 121 Nights Costs And How The Segments Break Down

MSC lists the full voyage from around $20,009 per person as of late July 2026, and world cruise pricing moves with demand.

You do not have to book the whole thing. MSC splits the voyage into three segments that sell separately.

Booking option Dates Length Route
Full world cruise Jan 5 to May 6, 2027 121 nights Genoa to Genoa
First segment Jan 5 to Feb 10, 2027 36 nights Genoa to Valparaiso
Second segment Feb 10 to Mar 16, 2027 34 nights Valparaiso to Sydney
Third segment Mar 16 to May 6, 2027 51 nights Sydney to Genoa

The third segment carries the Pacific islands, Hawaii and the Panama Canal, and MSC has listed it from around $7,109 per person.

For a lot of people that segment is the smarter buy. It holds most of the bucket list ports without asking for four months away from home.

Heads up: MSC’s terms set the solo surcharge at 180% of the fare for inside, outside and balcony cabins, and 200% for suites. On a voyage priced above $20,000, that is a very large number for anyone sailing alone.

What This Means For Cruisers Weighing A World Cruise

The deposit terms are the part I would read twice.

MSC’s published cancellation policy makes 15% of the fare non-refundable from the moment you book, and the penalty climbs to 75% inside 89 days.

World cruises get sold on romance. The contract is where the actual commitment lives, and this one asks for real money up front.

The ship itself is the other honest consideration.

Magnifica launched in 2010 and carries around 2,500 guests. There is no roller coaster, no go-kart track, no water park.

I think that is a feature rather than a flaw on a voyage this long. Ships built for spectacle are exhausting to live on for four months, and the refreshed spa, gym and two new restaurants matter far more day to day than a slide would.

If you want a sense of how the rest of the field is pricing this category, Princess put a 115 day 2028 world cruise on sale with onboard credit attached, and Viking has a 142 day route running from Florida to London.

What To Watch Next

Magnifica is not done with long voyages after 2027.

MSC has already opened sales on a 2028 world cruise for the same ship, a sailing of 115 nights that runs from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, across the Pacific, through Australasia, Asia and the Arabian Peninsula before returning to Europe.

Sister ship MSC Poesia went through a comparable refit in early 2026 and picked up a Yacht Club of 69 suites along with the same restaurant, spa and gym upgrades.

Two Musica class ships with private enclaves is a clear signal about where MSC sees growth, and it lines up with the newbuild program the line has mapped out through 2033.

The short version: MSC is running a voyage of 121 nights and 45 destinations in January 2027, the Yacht Club sails on a world cruise for the first time, the segments give you three cheaper ways in, and the deposit rules are stricter than most people expect.

Would you book the full 121 nights, or take the Sydney to Genoa segment and keep your year mostly intact?
